The Location:

The Suncoast is dotted with charming market towns, provincial villages, sugar-cane fields, and, most importantly, it is home to the township of Rakiraki. 

Rakiraki is the gateway to exceptional diving, snorkelling, kitesurfing and windsurfing, as well as the beautiful beaches of Nananu-I-Ra island.

Bligh Waters is a stretch of ocean that runs between the two main islands of Fiji. 

The Diving -

Home to Vatu-I-Ra, a national park and bird sanctuary, Bligh Waters is well protected, and as such, presents a vast array of marine life to discover. The island is ringed by stunning coral reefs which contain narrow passages brimming with life, particularly as the tide changes and the current builds, pushing plankton into the out-stretching arms of the beautiful soft corals.

 These strong currents, and the nutrients that they bring, promote a massive diversity of sea life. For the macro enthusiasts look out for nudibranch, anthias, pygmy and common seahorses, frogfish, ghost pipefish, moray eels, and thousands of anemone fish living amongst the brightly coloured corals. Pelagics include hawksbill, leatherback, green, olive ridley, and loggerhead turtles, as well as blacktip, whitetip, and grey reef sharks. Larger shark species are also known to frequent these waters.

Ra Divers

Ra Divers is a fully certified PADI and SSI dive resort with six custom built dive boats capable of carrying 62 divers in total and also offers Nitrox and equipment rental.

We depart Brisbane on June 14th, flying direct to Nadi, Fiji, and being transferred to our accommodation for the week, Volivoli Beach Resort.

We always recommend ensuring you have at least day or two either side of any tour available so you can pack at leisure & relax before returning to work on the other side!

On the most northerly tip of Fiji’s largest island, Viti Levu, lies a headland where you’ll find Volivoli Beach Resort—the premium, boutique, four-star, holiday destination on Fiji’s untouched Suncoast. It is nestled amongst lush rainforest, thundering waterfalls, history-filled caves, sugarcane fields, abundant agriculture, thriving mangroves, and some of the earth’s healthiest coral reefs.

Bask in the sunshine around the oceanfront swimming pool, lounge in a hammock by the beach watching the sunrise and set, dine on inspired local cuisine in the two restaurants, enjoy a cocktail at one the three bars, regenerate in the restorative spa.  Later, head out on a deep-sea fishing excursion, try your hand at kitesurfing, dabble in the full suite of non-motorised water sports, or venture off to explore the enchanting surrounds of the Ra province.

What if I'm travelling solo?     

We will do our best to match you with an accommodation buddy to suit of the same sex.  Many new dive buddy pairs start on our trips! You dont have to spend every waking moment with your roommate - there is much to explore outside, hang out in the lounge, swim, snorkel, read, or a favourite - just chill! 

Some divers also like to upgrade their accommodation to sole occupant. This is also totally normal and acceptable!
